This Sunday, the Buffalo Bills (6-1) will travel to East Rutherford, NJ to face the New York Jets (5-3). Kickoff will be at 1:00 pm EST inside MetLife Stadium. Both teams are off to great starts to this regular season, and will be looking to stay hot in this one.
The Buffalo Bills are coming into this after defeating the Green Bay Packers, 27-17. The Bills looked great on the defensive end of the field, giving up just 190 passing yards. His secondary will also have to step up on this one if they want to beat the Jets down the road.
The New York Jets are entering this one after losing to the New England Patriots, 22-17. The Jets continued to deliver the ball and their defense couldn’t make enough stops to get the job done in that game. They will now look to bounce back at home against one of the best teams in the league.

Can bills stay warm?
The Buffalo Bills currently sit atop the AFC East as they hold a two-game lead over the New York Jets. They could push that lead to three games if they come out of this game with a win. On offense, the Bills are scoring 29 points per game and averaging 430.6 total yards. This is the second-most points scored per game and the most yards averaged. They have continued to march up and down the field this season as they have one of the best passing attacks in the league. They are currently throwing for 307.7 yards per game, which is the most in the NFL. Josh Allen will start at quarterback, as he has recorded 19 touchdown passes this season and six interceptions. He will get the ball to Stefon Diggs, as he leads the team with 55 receptions for 764 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s also averaging 13.9 yards per catch, as he’s a threat on the field. The Bills are also rushing for 122.9 yards per game, which is 14th most in the league. They run a balanced offense as they will try to keep the Jets on their toes with their play.
On defense, the Bills give up 14 points per game and 298.1 total yards, as this is the fewest points given up per game and third fewest yards. They have shown that they can stop the run and the pass. Buffalo is giving up 203.1 passing yards per game, which is ninth-lowest in the NFL. They are also allowing 95 rushing yards per game, as this is the fourth fewest rushing yards allowed. Tremaine Edmonds leads this defense, as he has recorded 52 tackles and one sack this season. His 52 tackles lead the team, but he is currently listed as questionable. Aaron Johnson is the second leading tackler for the Bills, as he has recorded 42 total tackles this season.
Can the Jets bounce back?
The New York Jets currently sit in second place in the AFC East as they are two games behind the Buffalo Bills. They could regain some serious ground with a win in this game. On offense, the Jets are scoring 22 points per game and averaging 338 total yards of offense. This is the 19th place with the most points scored per game and the 19th with the most yards averaged. They have struggled to consistently move the ball on the ground this season, but have been successful in the air. New York is averaging 229.4 passing yards per game, which is 14th most in the league. Zach Wilson will start at quarterback, as he has recorded 1,048 yards and three touchdowns this season. He has also thrown five interceptions, since he threw two last week against the Patriots. He will look to get the ball to Garrett Wilson, as the rookie leads the team with 429 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Jets are also rushing for 108.8 rushing yards per game, which is 20th-most in the NFL. Their offensive line has struggled and they lost Breece Hall to a torn ACL just a few weeks ago. Robinson and Carter will now fill that role, as they are the team’s two running backs.
On defense, the Jets have continued to impress this season. They are currently allowing 19.9 points per game and 311.4 total yards. This is the 11th-fewest points awarded per game and sixth-fewest yards. His defense has been the strongest part of his team this season. New York is also allowing 203.4 passing yards per game, which is 10th fewest in the league. Willow Gardner continues to emerge as a standout defensive back, as the fourth overall pick has posted 37 tackles and 12 pass deflections this season. He also had an interception against the Dolphins. The Jets are also giving up 108 rushing yards per game. This is the ninth fewest rushing yards given per game as all seven of their forwards continue to drive toward the ball.

State of the initiates:
I will not fade the Bills in this game as I see them dominating the Jets on both ends of the field. First of all, the Jets have zero chance of shutting down Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense. Buffalo is currently scoring the second most points per game and they are averaging the most total yards. They’ve shown they can efficiently move the ball through the air, as this Jet’s secondary isn’t talented enough to shut down all of the Bills’ weapons. Josh Allen is also looking amazing right now as I can’t bet against him. He continues to make play after play, and I see him playing very well in this game as well. Now the Jets and Zach Wilson are in trouble, as the Bills’ defense is no joke either. They are giving up the fewest points per game and the third fewest yards. They will continue to pressure Wilson throughout this game, which will turn into punts and errors. Buffalo is the better team overall and I don’t see them letting the Jets get any closer in the division standings. New York was exposed by the Patriots last week as I see them fighting one of the best teams in the league this season. New York won’t score enough points on this Buffalo defense to keep this game in the extension.
Choose the Buffalo Bills and put the points (-11.5).
Prediction: Buffalo Bills -11.5

State of the initiates:
I’ll take the bottom points (47.5) in this game between the Bills and Jets. New York’s defense is the strongest part of their team and the Bills’ defense isn’t going to allow the Jets to score enough points for this total to top the number. The Jets are currently allowing the 11th fewest points per game and the sixth fewest yards. Their secondary has also continued to show up, as they give up the 10th-fewest passing yards per game. They will eventually make some stops and keep the Bills from scoring consistently throughout this game. I see the Bills running with this game, but I don’t see them pushing this total above the number on their own. The Bills are going to stifle this New York Jet’s offense as I don’t see them scoring enough points to push this total above the number. The Bills are giving up the fewest points per game and allowing the third fewest yards. Wilson will have trouble moving the ball through the air and Buffalo will continue to charge the box to stop the run. The Jets will struggle on the offensive end of the field in this game. The Bills defense is legit as they are going to dominate the Jets in this one.
Pick the bass (47.5) and expect a one-sided show on this one!
Prediction: less than 47.5
