Three words that perfectly sum up the film: intense, brutal, creepy.

🎬 All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) – Netflix Intense • Brutal • Horrible A top-tier anti-war film from Germany with exceptional attention to detail in storytelling and cinematography, showcasing the gruesome nature of war with minor mishaps. Highly recommended. 1/2

I hope the Academy is listening.

‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ on Netflix is a masterpiece, probably one of the best war movies ever made. If the Oscars don’t give a shit about foreign movies, this one should sweep all the awards.

One of the very few films of recent times where viewers and critics agree.

A teacher teaching the novel on which the film is based finds the film “tremendous”.

Now I’ve seen the new All Quiet on the Western Front, dir. Edward Berger for Netflix. The movie is tremendous and I highly recommend it, but since I teach the novel, my take on the movie is not typical, so here is a thread about the movie as a literary adaptation. 1/12

Only the dead have seen the end of the war.

I watched ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ on Netflix last night. A reminder of what a privileged few, sitting comfortably and safely 50 miles behind the front line, can make millions of men do to each other.

Will this movie bring Netflix’s first Academy Award?

Netflix needs to realize that their best bet this year is All Quiet On The Western Front, so everyone needs to watch it ASAP and make sure everyone they know sees it. so they realize

Most of the viewers are praising the movie in superlatives.

Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front is the best new movie I’ve seen this year and probably the most intense war movie I’ve seen.

Sounds like a fun idea.

There should be an anime adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front where all the main characters are cute anime girls, but otherwise it’s a COMPLETELY accurate retelling of the story. Honestly, most things should fit that way, if they have to fit at all.

Hard to beat this movie in its anti-war message.

I watched a bit of Netflix All Quiet On The Western Front last night (it’s a lot to take in in one sitting) I just finished the movie tonight. It’s amazing but brutal. There has never been a stronger message about the futility of war.

Some feel that sensitive viewers should be warned before viewing this visceral film.

We just saw the new All Quiet on the Western Front, and it was so dark and gloomy, I’ll give you a warning before you see it. If you are very sensitive, maybe you can skip it. It’s quite disturbing, but we shouldn’t glorify and war Hollywood – this show does NOT do that.

It reminded some of the novel on which the film is based.

Watching Netflix’s spectacular ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and it leads me to read it in high school. Do teenagers still read it? (The ideal age, since the characters are teenagers.) I can’t imagine reading it now and coming out of the closet… (waves hands at all this).

Well, you can’t please everyone!

Netflix’s version of All Quiet on the Western Front absolutely trashed one of the best World War I novels ever written. If you enjoyed the book but have never seen a movie, I recommend the 1979 version starring Richard Thomas and Ernest Borgnine.

Sounds crazy, right?

It’s crazy to me that wars were once fought by running right into enemy forces while they were shooting at you. (Seeing all quiet on the western front)

And finally, many viewers are drawing correct conclusions from the film.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed in a society that demands you have a say in everything, but yesterday I saw the new all quiet on the western front and gosh. What a solemn reminder that the most important things I can be are anti-authoritarian and anti-war.
