Destiny 2’s Seraph Season Has Two Unsolvable Mysteries Right Now

Spread the love

In a recent TWAB, Bungie made a big comment saying that Destiny 2 would still be getting new secrets in the future, after fans complained that they hadn’t done a secret mission or big secret puzzle in a long time. They implied that some may be quite close indeed:

“But as we develop our plans leading up to Lightfall and beyond, I want to assure you that community feedback is heard loud and clear, and “putting more secrets in Destiny 2” is an initiative our teams have been working on. for months. before this conversation recently came to a head. Some secrets will be small, some will be big, some will be coming next year, and some are just around the corner, but I promise you we have a talented group of people who love this type of content and know what it’s all about. means for the community to discover and experience it.”

Tomorrow should bring with it a new exotic quest for a multi-catalyst weapon, Patch Zero, which isn’t a secret per se, but may come bundled with some. Currently, there are two big secrets that fans have uncovered in Season of the Seraph, one that seems directly related to this exotic, another that may be… something else.

The balls

Almost immediately after the season began, players notice some strange new items that have appeared all over the map in seemingly random locations. They can best be described as… big balls, looking like some kind of Bray-based technology, if I had to guess.

There have been over 35 found so far, but more keep popping up and finding, and it looks like there will be 50 in total, similar to other collectibles Destiny has put into the game in the past. They’re immune when shot, so everyone has the same idea for this one, that once the new exotic weapon becomes available tomorrow, we’ll take that weapon and take it upon ourselves to shoot 50 of these balls with it across the entire solar system.

The reward will be… what, exactly? We know that Review Zero has multiple catalysts. My current theory is that a “hard mode” version of the exotic quest, or some puzzle within that quest, will produce a catalyst. The other can be acquired by hunting these 50 balls. I can’t prove that yet, I guess it could be an ornament or something, but I’m pretty sure it’s related to this specific exotic. The dungeon arc didn’t unlock anything so it has to be this.

Hakke’s Terminals

This… this is weirder.

At the end of several Lost Sectors in Destiny 2 right now are these terminals with a holographic logo for Hakke, the weapons foundry that makes structure-damaging, hard-hitting weapons. You can go to the terminal, but it says “Access Denied: Encryption Required”.

Since it doesn’t seem like the new exotic has anything to do with Hakke, it’s not quite clear what it is supposed to be. We have a small amount of Hakke lore this season that I’ve seen, namely an entry on how they upgraded a glaive they found (the new Seraph one), but other than that this could be part of the story quests, where maybe a week. We’ll have to go around and find all of this as some kind of thing to help build the Rasputin framework, or is it something else entirely. The word “encryption” usually has to do with puzzles, and while I don’t conclude that it’s a big mystery, it’s… a mystery all the same, and I really don’t know where this one is going. .

Those are the two for this season. There may be more to come when the exotic quest arrives tomorrow, but until then, we’ll just keep guessing.
